DESIGN KOISHIKAWA is going to host an exhibition ‘Christophe Guberan / MATERIAL EXPERIMENT’
Christophe Guberan, a product designer form Switherland, has decided tp dedicate a few years to research on materials and process at MIT. Usingvery well-known materials, like paper, textiles or wood, and explore the possibilities given by new technologies to use or combine their properties in new years.

Christophe Guberan was born in La Praz, Switzerland in 1985. He graduated from ECAL / University of art and design of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2012. In 2014, he moved to Boston, where he started his collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

この度デザイン小石川では、今年スイスデザイン賞 とHublot Design Awardsを受賞したスイスのプロダクトデザイナー、クリストフ・グベランによる個展を開催いたします。
紙や木材、布などの一般的な材料を新技術を用いて加工し、材料の新たな使い方や組み合わせの可能性を模索する過程を、映像作品とともにご覧いただけます。ぜひ皆様足をお運びください。
Christophe Guberan/クリストフ・グベラン
プロダクトデザイナー。1985年スイス生まれ。形は、素材を研究し十分に理解することから生まれるという彼の考えは、ローザンヌ美術大学で培われたものである。そうして生まれたグベランのデザインはALESSIの商品にもなっている。また、従来からあるインクジェットプリンターで出力した平面上の紙が自ら折り畳み立体物になるというHydro-Foldプロジェクトで注目を集め、現在マサチューセッツ工科大学(MIT)の研究員としても活動。2016年スイスデザイン賞 とHublot Design Awardsを受賞。
